Meanwhile another child has moved successfully to the home. Her social worker remarked on how impressed she was with the efficiency and thoughtfulness of our induction process and said that it is the best she has seen. she also said:
"I am very impressed with the home and staff and very happy for my young person to be placed here. I'm looking forward to working with Country Care"
"An absolute pleasure to visit this premises. Staff very helpful. It is enlightening and I found it wonderful
that young adults / children are given a chance for a better futture." JC EHO
"What a truly amazing place is The Meadows.... offering the level of care with the balance of education and nurturing... You made us truly welcome and so lovely to hear the children refer to The Meadows as 'our school'. Thank you to all staff and children....Truly inspirational" NE Ed Psych
"Wow! Holistic, nurturing, therapeutic, 'normal' are all words that instantly spring to mind following my time here this morning. Inspirational and so much to offer in terms of alternative life trajectories and space to heal and grow. I could say more but I think the success of The Meadows speaks for itself." BD C Psychol
"I'm just writing to say hello and I hope you are all doing OK. I'm doing just fine...I'll come and visit" Former resident
“It’s with much regret that my professional contact with Country Care is ending as I leave Southend BC’s employ as Advisory Teacher for LAC to return to teaching.
I have really valued your input towards the Southend LAC in your outstanding care. I have had professional oversight of “therapeutic placements” in many parts of the country but NONE match yours.
You really “do what it says on the tin”. I am impressed by your organisational set-up and the outstanding education provision marrying educational and social pedagogy. Your support for attachment disorders is obviously underpinned by complete theoretical knowledge appropriately applied to practical delivery of support.
The overwhelming sense of well-being in the home is real and not stage managed. Our LAC is responding and will stand every possible chance of developing a positive future both educationally and socially. My hope is that the family members will also catch your “fairy dust” and modify their lifestyles but at least their attitude towards parenting our LAC”
In her leaving card a former resident writes:
“TO EVERYONE AT THE MEADOWS!
Thank you for everything, I will take away the most amazing memories and I will never forget you guys. Take care of yourselves. Love XXX
We are definitely not going to be Lemons!
